Good, Better, Green Products and Services Selection Process

The choice of products and services we sell is mainly driven by the consumer. COMPLETE’s role is primarily an advisory one whereby we will go to market and steer our customers towards the most suitable product from its usage, sustainability and end of life programme. This can be summarised into three choices Good, Better, Green:

• Good – the bare minimum our customers can expect is that the products we supply are fit for purpose, ethically produced and are guaranteed by COMPLETE for a minimum of 12months, unless dated otherwise.
• Better – Normally a branded product that will have specific benefits over its non-branded equivalent. Its life cycle is often better and therefore will deliver better value for money.
• Green – As part of our purpose, mission and values to be the market leader in sustainable circular procurement, sustainable products will always be our products of choice. We highlight these as part of our customer reviews, showing the volume of sustainable and non-sustainable products that are bought and actively promoting sustainable alternatives via our "green" customer audits. We will also actively seek out and promote innovative sustainable solutions and this includes our service partners.
• Definition of "Green" – Following the Competition & Markets Authority’s, (CMA) Green Claims Code guidance for Complete to recommend a sustainable product as a Green Champions Choice it must have at least one of the following attributes:
  • Paper & Wood products must have either FSC or PEFC chain of custody
  • Recycled products must have a minimum of 30% recycled material
  • Carbon Neutral
  • Plastic Free – when there is no recycled plastic or cardboard alternative
  • Biodegradable
  • Catering - Fair Trade or Rain Forest Alliance
  • Rechargeable
  • Refillable
• If a product is classified as being plastic free, or biodegradable it doesn’t mean it will be automatically categorised as one of our preferred Green Champions Choice products. This would only happen if there were no other viable sustainable alternatives.

There may be more accreditations or sustainable attributes which would be highlighted. However, these are not taken currently into consideration when allocating Complete’s Green Champions Choice status.

We have excluded "recyclable" as a sustainable attribute, as this is totally dependant upon the waste management strategy being adopted.

Our Green Champions choices are easily identifiable online, as we allocate the globe symbol, in their logo to them.
