Philips SMP3800 SpeechMike Premium Touch with Barcode Reader
Product Code: 27361J
Pack Of 1
Item is not in stock
This is a push button device for people who associate digital dictation with button devices, in addition the SMP3800 incorporates a barcode scanner.

The SpeechMike Premium Touch not only includes the well-known capabilities of the SpeechMike Premium like the free-floating studio quality microphone, a microphone grille with optimized structure, built-in noise-reduction pop filter, antimicrobial surface or the world's first motion sensor in a USB dictation microphone, but it also includes a new touch sensor for optimized cursor control, enhanced barcode reader capabilities for the barcode devices, as well as a revised hardware architecture enabling secure firmware upgrades.

The new barcode scanner engine is based on a CCD chip technology which is more robust and drop resistant in harsh environments, because no mechanical parts like little mirrors are involved anymore. An example of supported barcodes include: EAN, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Code 11, Interleaved 2 of 5, Discrete 2 of 5, Chinese 2 of 5, matrix 2 of 5, Inverse 1D, Codabar, MSI Code & GS1 DataBar.

The SMP3800 features breakthrough technologies such as the free-floating studio quality microphone and the hexagonal grille around it,offering 10% more open space than round holes it provides crystal clear recordings.

The touch sensor is the most obvious difference of the SpeechMike Premium Touch compared to the SpeechMike Premium and since there are no mechanical parts involved the touch sensor cannot get stuck or stop working due to dust and dirt. As there isn't a trackball, there is no need to disassemble the parts for cleaning which always poses the potential risk to lose parts or damage the whole trackball assembly. Due to its flat design wiping with the thumb over the touch sensor is much more convenient compared to the trackball. Especially when using the left mouse click function the user can feel the difference compared to trackball. The touch sensor can also be used as the left mouse button with following functions: Left mouse button, Pick and Drop & Volume control.

The SpeechMike Premium Touch is backwards-compatible with its predecessors - for easy plug & play integration into existing systems.
